HEINZ KETCHUP SLOGAN CONTEST
Some advertising gimmicks are amusing, some silly, some seem incomprehensible as part of any kind of a rational ad strategy. I have no idea what Heinz is trying to do with slogans for Ketchup bottles; but they do
have a contest going. They have even had a few in house slogans that were clever and funny.
However, Here is one unlikely to grace the plastic squeeze or drizzle bottle in any retail story:
KETCHUP...LESS VEGETABLE THAN RONALD REAGAN.
You may have guessed already that I was never impressed with that loons logic or rhetoric. The mere sight of his face on TV was nearly enough to start a gag reflex. I find it hard to believe his mental condition was not Altzheimers impaired from the day he was elected. No one else ever thought ICBMS could be recalled from
their target once launched. Only his Agriculture Department could define catsup as a vegetable. I don't think they ever did get to defining refined sugar as a vegetable or carbonated beverages, but that is small consolation.
Somewhere there is a toxic waste dump oir stinking disposal lagoon that needs to be named after Ronald Reagan. ---------- Doug Wiken

WARNING NOTICE: Caution can prevent serious epidemic
Even though medical journals have made no warnings about this problem, we feel that in the interests of public
decency, it is only right that we should let sensible people know about this.
As you know, listening to a George Bush speech can be hazardous to your mental health, but other serious symptoms
may develope?
BEWARE: Be very careful, or you may get the Bush disease....in-consonants and uncontrolled vowel movements.
Stay tuned up for worse to come. Forewarned is forearmed and all that.... (c)2002 Douglas Wiken for Sliced and Diced Nevermind.

TOO LATE FOR SOME OF US...OR ..OH TO BE 18 AGAIN AND KNOW WHAT I KNOW NOW
SIRC Guide to flirting
Yup, it is a guide to flirting....from a British site. Those of us who are happily married probably won't get any good use out of this....unless you have a surplus of idle curiousity..as in ..inquiring minds want to know. Probably some other information at this site that is more useful, but it does take something like this to get the attention of some people....something like flirting perhaps. --------- Doug Wiken

COMMENT-- SENIOR MOMENTS AND I AM SO PISSED OFF
I was fuming about something a couple of days age. Naturally, I thought...this would be a good topic for
the Sliced and Diced Nevermind Blogsite. Oh, it was a real ring-a-ding doozey of an idea.
But, now when I get ready to post and publish here...not a damn thing comes to mind...well a few things
do, but nothing so serious they need careful explication here and certainly not that huge aggravation and
irritation...whatever it was.
I have forgotten what so pissed me off.....and that REALLY pisses me off.

Not a gripe, just a little news about a computer game with a SDak Connection
Last night KELO TV had a few minutes on the design of one game for a Sony Gamestation. Near Sioux Falls, SD
is a dirt oval race track. Hussets (sp?) Speedway is ideal for sprint racecars on a banked oval. It is kind of
rough and ready racing however and one of the photographers at KELO TV had a collection of tape showing the
track, wrecks, rollovers, etc. The made a detailed digital record of most aspects of the track. This then ended
up in various forms in the the Sony sprint car race game. Which by now has apparently sold over 200,000 copies.
Not the kind of news we usually hear around here...or at least not unless it is transmitted in from someplace on
one of the coasts.
Don't ya just hate it when a site devoted to grouching about everything does a flipflop and puts out something
else? Well, despite above, race games are a huge waste of time. Ah, back in the grouch groove again. ---- Doug Wiken

BUSH CALLS FOR FREE ELECTIONS IN CUBA, BUT HAS ONE HUGE WORRY
As most of us know by now, immediately after former President Carter visited Cuba, the ever-minor bush
visited his brother and a few thousand ex-Cubans in Florida. Bush is advocating free elections in Cuba.
He did not venture into the "transparent regimes" blather that he dumped on North Korea a month or two
ago.
But we digress. Bush's real worry is that Castro will have a brother or cousing to oversee the election
and have a near 100% majority on whatever passes for a Cuban Supreme Court. In short, Bush is
scared nearly spitless that Castro will do a "FLORIDA" on any Cuban "free" elections.
A bit of satire based on a suggestion from J.A.J. Thanks.

Answering the Unasked Question and Ignoring the Obvious
Ari Fleischer (Bush spokesperson even if that is not how is name might be spelled) and the ever-minor Bush have been
busily answering a question being asked with something like "Had we only known, we would have done something."
Unfortunately, the question was not "What would you have done if you had only known ?". The question is really
"Why did you ignore the information that you knew or why did you ignore the information you should have known?
Of course, the question that devil-theory conspiracists would like to ask is, "Was your knowledge of an impending act of
Terror involving high-jacked airplanes why you were camped in nowhere Texas or campaigning in Florida instead of working
in the White House learning the details of the known threat?
I imagine there are all kinds of variations in the business and social worlds besides the obvious political dodging and
weaving that involve answering the unasked question.----------- Douglas Wiken for Sliced and Diced Nevermind.
